The Mobile Awareness GEOINT Environment, MAGE, offers dynamic capabilities for mobile situational awareness. Initially designed to assist first responders during natural disasters, the MAGE application enables users to generate geotagged field reports and observations containing various media types like photos, videos, and voice recordings. This data can be promptly shared with other team members.
Utilizing the GPS functionality of your mobile device, MAGE can track user locations in real time. Location information can be shared exclusively with team members and remains accessible even if the device loses network connectivity. The application will synchronize local data once the connection is reestablished.
Geospatial data layers, such as map tiles and vector data, can be saved on your device for offline access. When offline, MAGE seamlessly switches to utilize local data to provide relevant geospatial information to team members. Furthermore, MAGE is flexible and can be customized to suit your team's specific needs.
The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency has made this application publicly available to enhance the impact of government investments in unclassified mobile initiatives. Please note that MAGE is not hosted or managed by NGA; you will need access to your agency or managing entity's server to utilize this tool.
Note: Prolonged use of GPS in the background may considerably reduce battery life.
